Job OverviewWe are seeking a full-time, skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our medical team and work directly with our Managing Physician, Dr Matthew Leibman, in treating patients with hand & upper extremity injuries. As their Physician Assistant, you will work closely with the physician and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care, in a fast-paced orthopedic surgery practice. Dr. Leibman has a specialty of care in sports medicine & the care of professional athletes, being the Team Physician for the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, New England Patriots, New England Revolution, and Boston Fleets (PWHL.) He also cares for college athletes from Boston College, Northeastern University and UMass. Your primary responsibilities will include diagnosing and treating injuries, conducting physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans & assisting in the operating room.

Duties

  • Perform medical-surgical procedures under the supervision of a physician
  • Provide pediatric to geriatric care, encompassing all activity levels
  • Perform injections, such as ultrasound guided cortisone injections, as needed
  • Conduct phlebotomy procedures to collect blood samples for testing
  • Assist with PRP procedures
  • Perform independent outpatient clinic sessions
  • Assist in the Operating Room, 2 days per week
  • Provide office call coverage when assigned
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy
  • Perform physical examinations and document patient histories in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Epic

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Valid state licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant.
  • Experience in orthopedics or sports medicine is preferred; hospital & outpatient experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of patient assessment techniques and urgent care protocols.
  • Familiarity with coding practices for medical billing is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to educate patients effectively about their health conditions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
