The Opportunity
Pentucket Medical is launching a walk-in, no appointment necessary orthopedic injury clinic at our Riverwalk location (370 Merrimack Street in Lawrence, MA 01843). The goal? To provide urgent, same-day visits for patients, provide appropriate evaluation and treatment, and establish needed follow up or surgical care during the visit. We also offer radiology services on-site.
We are seeking a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our brand new Orthopedic Walk-In Clinic located at 370 Merrimack Street in Lawrence, MA 01843. Our Per Diem APPs are required to work one full weekend per month as well as one week day shift (8 hour or 12 hour shift). We are open Monday – Friday 7:30am – 7:30pm / Saturdays from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm/ and on Sundays from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will be responsible for:
- Evaluating patients by performing appropriate history and physical exams
- Ordering diagnostic procedures such as laboratory, radiological and special studies when indicated
- Performing therapeutic procedures such as, but not limited to, suturing of wounds, foreign body removal, I&D of abscesses, reduction of fractures and dislocations, splinting, casting, and injections
- Ordering medication, both in the clinic or by prescription

Qualifications
The ideal candidate profile is an adaptable Advanced Practice Provider who has an interest in providing patient-facing care in a small, community setting. When hiring, we look for candidates who possess not only the relevant licensure, experience, skills, and competencies, but also positive attitudes, innovative spirits, and genuine passion for the work.
Education:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies required
Experience:
- Two or more years of Advanced Practice Provider work experience preferred, particularly in an Orthopedics or acute care setting
Certification:
- Certified Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant required upon hire
