SSTAR is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) which affords our employees eligibility to apply for one of our three Loan Repayment Programs, including the HRSA LRP.

The Physician Assistant provides primary health care, education, and clinical functions consistent with the Physician Assistant specialty according to the regulations as indicated on Scope of Practice signed by the Chief Medical Officer.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides primary and acute health care to individuals who present at the Health Care Center, according to the regulations as indicated on Scope of Practice signed by the CMO.
  • Documents clinic visits and all telephone or verbal contacts in patient charts.
  • Reviews initial and follow-up of labs and diagnostic tests.
  • Provides health care based on clinical protocols, which have been reviewed and approved annually by the CMO.
  • Attends Health Center staff and provider meetings.
  • Consults and refers to Health Center doctors and other doctors as needed to provide optimal care.
  • Participates in an evening/weekend on call rotation approximately once every 8 weeks.
  • Attends conferences and trainings that reflect clinic practice.
  • Other duties as required

Experience and Skills:

Education & Experience

  • Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program.
  • Current license to practice as a physician assistant in Massachusetts.
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Possess or obtain prescription privileges in Massachusetts.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (CPR)
