General Summary
Expanding Reconstructive and esthetic surgery group seeking physician assistant for multi surgeon practice. Role in practice would be in office and operating room position. Job would include OR first assist, patient visits for pre, post op and follow up visits. Ideal candidate has experience with OR first assist, neurotoxins and dermal fillers. Time would be split between Brookline and Cambridge location.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides direct care, counseling and teaching to a select patient population.
- Performs history and physical examinations.
- Performs post- operative patient visits.
- OR first assist
- Responds in a timely fashion to patient telephone calls and email queries.
- Orders, interprets and evaluates appropriate lab and diagnostic tests to assess patients’ clinical problems and health care needs
- Arranges for appropriate plan of care and follow-up based on outcome of diagnostic, lab and physical assessment findings.
- Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Records pertinent patient care findings in electronic medical records in a timely manner.
- Have an Excellent standard of Service and Maintains Protocols
- Ensure safety of patient at all times when performing treatments.
- Administering injectable treatments of neurotoxins and dermal fillers
- Sets priorities for appropriate and efficient management of patient care that reflects cost effective management of time, available human resources, supplies and equipment.
- Maintains interdisciplinary approach to planning and communicating patient care information by discussing patient data with appropriate physicians and other health care professionals. Demonstrates awareness of community resources and assists staff, patients and families to effectively use them.
Qualifications:
Must hold a Master’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Experience working with an ethnically, culturally and racially diverse work staff preferred. The ability to work harmoniously with a diverse group of individuals is required. Must maintain a PA license in Massachusetts and maintain a controlled substance licensure in MA. The candidate must have a Federal DEA license. Must have minimum 2 years of experience in plastic surgery. Experience with OR, neurotoxins and dermal fillers strongly preferred.
Must possess:
- Expert clinical judgement skills to function in an independent role.
- Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills in order to collaborate with patients, families, staff and outside healthcare workers.
- Ability to work with frequent stress resulting from busy clinical settings and a changing organizational climate.
- Ability to utilize appropriate problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to summarize and communicate in English moderately complex information in varied written formats to internal staff as well as to external healthcare workers.
- Ability to comprehend and communicate complex verbal information in English to office staff, patients and families.
- Must possess the ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices and policies of the practice with the ability to use them in varied situations.
- Ability to provide a high level of patient satisfaction and staff training to meet service standards and expectations for the assigned position. Must be able to resolve issues in the practice in a timely and respectful manner
- Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
Licensure Required:
- Must have successfully completed a Graduate Level, accredited Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant Program. Must have 4 years of college level education and a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent — BS/MS joint programs are also acceptable.
- Board Certification by the National Commission on Certification of PA’s is required.
- License as a Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant in Massachusetts
- Maintain a current DEA and Massachusetts Controlled Substance License.
- Complete CME, according to national and state regulations during each two-year period of employment.
- Maintain current BLS/ ACLS certification

Working Conditions:
The PA will work in a pleasant community-based plastic surgical practice. The workload can be challenging, requiring both teamwork and individual initiative. A high level of patient care is required, often requiring the ability to multi-task. Our schedule may require some measure of flexibility in hours.
Fiscal Responsibility:
- Participate in proper, complete and timely documentation

- Participate in setting productivity metrics and in cost effective management of personnel, time, supplies and equipment in his/her area
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
