Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

Boston Medical Center – South (BMC-South) is seeking a full-time physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join their emergency team. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a stable collegial staff of Emergency Medicine Physicians and Advanced Practitioners who provide care to approximately 65,000 patients annually.

Responsibilities:
- Detailed Patient Histories: Obtain comprehensive patient histories, meticulously documenting medical, social, and family backgrounds to inform accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.

Thorough Physical Examinations: Perform comprehensive physical examinations to evaluate patients for admission, utilizing advanced clinical skills to identify and assess medical conditions.

Emergency Care Expertise: Deliver expert care in emergency situations, managing patients with varying levels of acuity, from minor injuries to life-threatening conditions, ensuring timely and effective interventions.

Expert Diagnostic and Therapeutic Procedures: Execute bedside diagnostic and therapeutic procedures with precision, ensuring optimal patient care.

Efficient Coordination of Tests and Consultations: Coordinate and facilitate diagnostic tests and specialist consultations, ensuring seamless integration of services for timely and effective patient management.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care is required.
- A Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants is required or master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner’s Program.

Current Massachusetts license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively alongside our emergency physicians and Emergency Medicine residents.
