Job Summary:
Our hospitalist group provides inpatient care at Encompass Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital. We are seeking a part-time physician assistant or adult nurse practitioner with strong clinical skills and inpatient experience to provide weekday coverage.
This is a great opportunity to join an established practice that offers competitive compensation.
Qualifications:
- At least two years of Advanced Practice experience in an inpatient setting, effective communication skills, and comfortable with a team-oriented approach to patient care.
- Physician Assistant: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
- Nurse Practitioner: Graduate of a Masters’ Program in Nursing
- Current Massachusetts license to practice, Federal DEA, and MCSR
Responsibilities include:
- Assessing acute and chronic patient illnesses in conjunction with the attending physician
- Obtaining complete medical history and performing a physical examination
- Ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and studies
- Formulating and implementing a diagnosis and treatment plan
- Seeking consultation or referral as necessary
- Working closely with other members of the rehab team
- Completing discharge summaries that identify outstanding issues and include plans for follow-up
