Location: Suburban Hospital, Johns Hopkins Medicine Department: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Job Type: Full-Time Schedule: Variable Shifts
Overview: Suburban Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant to join our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) team. Our CVICU provides specialized care for patients with severe cardiovascular conditions, and we are looking for a motivated professional to contribute to our patient-centered approach.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to critically ill cardiovascular patients in the CVICU.
- Perform advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under the supervision of attending physicians.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including surgeons, cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continuous enhancement of patient care standards.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities in the electronic health record system.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Maryland.
- Previous experience in a critical care setting, preferably in cardiovascular intensive care.
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
