Position Title: Physician Assistant – Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CVSICU) Location: Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our CVSICU team. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Schedule:
- 50/50 Day/Off Shifts
- Including weekends, nights, and holidays
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients in the CVSICU.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, and evaluate patient responses to interventions.
- Perform invasive procedures, including but not limited to central line placement, arterial line placement, and chest tube insertion.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their condition, treatment options, and discharge planning.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects to enhance patient care and outcomes in the CVSICU.
Requirements:
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Maryland.
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Certification as a Physician Assistant (NCCPA).
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in critical care, preferably in a cardiovascular surgical intensive care unit.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make autonomous decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
