The Maryland Spine Center (MSC) is devoted to treating people affected by spinal disorders with the highest level of professional excellence and genuine compassion. We focus on providing an accurate diagnosis and evidence-based treatment with a multi-disciplinary approach. The MSC was founded by world-renown pioneer in Spine Surgery, Charles Edwards, MD and has grown to include an expert team of three surgeons, a physiatrist, a CRNP, registered nurse, and five physicians’ assistants. A third of our patients come from Baltimore City. A third come from Baltimore’s surrounding counties and a third come from >50 miles and out of state to receive the quality of care that the MSC is renowned for.
Collaboration and dedication to excellence are hallmarks of the practice. Spine Center clinicians including our medical assistants and research assistant come together each Friday morning for an academic Spine Conference to discuss challenging cases, review all complications, review current literature and discuss opportunities for improvement. Several clinical research projects are always underway. Very much a leader in the advancement of spine care, MSC providers have authored over 25 peer reviewed articles in the last 10 years alone.
Mercy has been named a Best National Hospital in Orthopedics by U.S. News & World Report, as well as one of “100 Hospitals with Great Orthopedic Programs” by Becker’s Hospital Review.
