Full Job Description

Position Type: Permanent Night Shift

Description:

Johns Hopkins Hospital is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to join our team. This permanent night position will involve partnering with our medical residents to cover general surgery services, including GI surgery, vascular surgery, and thoracic surgery. Patients will be at an acute level of care, primarily located on the floors.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with medical residents to provide comprehensive care for patients undergoing general surgery procedures.
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with acute surgical conditions.
  • Perform procedures as necessary, under the supervision of attending physicians.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standard of care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families.

Schedule:

  • Work 3 (12-hour) shifts per week.
  • Night shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in Maryland.
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in acute care settings, preferably in surgical services.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
