Looking for a positive change. Busy local fellowship trained Orthopaedic Surgeon in search of a Physician’s Assistant. This is a solo practice working closely with one physician. Responsibilities include clinical duties, surgical first assist in a variety of procedures including ankle/knee/hip/shoulder joint arthroplasty, arthroscopy, etc. Position is 8-5, M-F with occasional after-hours cases as dictated by need. Ideal candidate should be a quick study who is capable working with a high degree of autonomy, eager, and willing to learn. Full benefits and competitive salary commensurate with experience. Must be willing to travel to satellite offices in company vehicle.
Physician’s Assistant:
Education, Experience, and Certifications
Must have or be eligible for a DEA license.
Approved to practice as a Physician Assistant in Louisiana.
Must possess current state license.
Responsibilities of the Physician Assistant:
Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment.
Order diagnostic test, such as x-ray, MRI, CT scans and laboratory test and interpret test results.
Performs comprehensive and problems-focused histories.
Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
Handles discharge planning and dictates discharge summaries.
Performs fist assist duties in surgery.
Perform all physician Assistant duties as assigned.
