Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and motivated Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join another active Physician Assistant at our dynamic and growing Neurosurgery Office. The ideal candidate will be an integral part of our patient care team, assisting in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with a variety of neurological conditions under the supervision of our experienced neurosurgeon.

As a PA/NP in our office, you will have the opportunity to work closely with patients, providing high-quality care in both office and surgical settings. You will contribute to patient assessments, pre-operative evaluations, post-operative care, and follow-up visits. Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Conduct comprehensive evaluations, take medical histories, and perform physical exams on neurosurgical patients.
  • Assist in Diagnosis & Treatment: Collaborate with the neurosurgeon to develop treatment plans and perform diagnostic procedures, such as imaging interpretation.
  • Pre- and Post-Operative Care: Manage pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-up care, including wound care, medication management, and patient education.
  • Patient Education: Provide counseling to patients and families regarding conditions, surgical procedures, and recovery processes.
  • Surgical Assistance: Assist in the operating room as needed, providing support during surgical procedures.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the neurosurgical team, including surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to deliver the best possible care to patients.

Requirements

  • Education:
  • Physician Assistant (PA) – Must hold a Master’s degree from an accredited PA program.
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Must hold a Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited NP program.
  • Licensure/Certification:
  • Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Certification by NCCPA (for PA) or national NP certification (for NP).
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Experience:
  • Previous experience in neurosurgery, orthopedics, or related specialties preferred, but not required. New grads with a strong interest in neurosurgery are encouraged to apply.
  • Skills:
  • Strong clinical skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish rapport with patients and staff.
  • Ability to manage a fast-paced environment and prioritize patient care.
