Full Job Description

Invictus4Core is looking for a Physician Assistant to provide a dual role as a Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Provider to patients with substance use disorder (SUD).

You’ll be our go-to person for ensuring the best patient care possible. The job description of a physician assistant includes conducting physical examinations, interpreting lab tests and overseeing patients’ health. It is preferred to have experience working with substance use disorders and knowledge on the treatments available. As a Physician Assistant, you’ll have to work closely with other healthcare professionals, so you should have a team spirit and a positive attitude. Patience, problem-solving skills and communication ability are important.

You will be working as a Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Provider as well as providing Psychiatric services to patients who are affected by substance use disorder (SUD) including psychiatric consultation and diagnostic and treatment services including medication management and crisis intervention services.

MAT Provider Responsibilities

  • Examine patients and their medical records
  • Diagnose health conditions and illnesses
  • Prescribe medications
  • Maintain accurate records and schedules
  • Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications
  • Educate patients and their family members on diseases, epidemics and prevention
  • Oversee patients’ overall health
  • Promote good health practices
  • Advance professional knowledge and conduct research

Psych Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities:

  • Interview patients, conduct throughout history and physical, and review their medical records.
  • Evaluate, Assess, Diagnose and treat mental health disorders.
  • Administer screening tools to help with diagnosis of anxiety, depression, and/or
  • mood disorder, ADHD, amongst others (e.g. GAD7, PHQ9, etc).
  • Order any necessary labs, interpret, and explain results to patients.
  • Provides patient education regarding medications, risks, benefits, and
  • reasonable outcome expectations.
  • Medication management.
  • Maintain accurate records and schedules.
  • Inform patients about their mental health disorders and prescribed medications.
  • Educate patients and their family members on mental health disorders.
  • Complete records within 48 hrs.
  • Involvement in process, policies and practice improvement.
  • Collaborates with other providers and staff for continuity of care.
  • Refer patients for other healthcare needs if necessary.

Requirements, Skills, And Qualifications:

  • Holds an active Kentucky license to practice
  • Holds a active and unrestricted DEA license for MAT and able to prescribe Suboxone
  • MAT training through SAMSHA approved course is required.
  • Knowledge of substance use and narcotic regulations per DEA, SAMHSA, and
  • KBML is required.
  • Experience in substance abuse and addiction is preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of health and patient care regulations

  • 4-year degree preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $40.00 – $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
