OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, including experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks, and demonstrate proficiency in diverse medical settings. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive patient care across various specialties, including acute care, primary care, hospital medicine, emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and specialty areas such as pain management, infectious disease care, and hospice & palliative medicine. The Physician Assistant will play a vital role in patient assessment, diagnostic evaluation, medication administration, and treatment planning within a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status.
  • Manage acute and chronic conditions through clinical evaluation and appropriate treatment plans.
  • Perform procedures such as suturing, injection administration (including botulinum toxin treatments), phlebotomy, and basic airway management.
  • Utilize EMR systems like Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks for documentation of medical records, data collection, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and data management.
  • Assist in diagnostic evaluations using medical imaging and laboratory results; coordinate with radiology and other departments.
  • Provide patient education on health coaching, medication adherence, nutrition, family planning, addiction counseling, and post-acute care planning.
  • Participate in clinical research trials and contribute to quality improvement initiatives aligned with NCQA standards.
  • Support hospital-based services including ICU care, Level I & II trauma center procedures such as ventilator management and cardiac catheterization.
  • Engage in outpatient clinics or telehealth consultations to extend patient access to specialized care.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques during all patient interactions.

Experience

  • Prior hospital experience in critical care settings such as ICU or PICU is highly desirable.
  • Experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers or emergency rooms is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing infectious diseases, acute pain management, ventilator support, dialysis procedures, and radiation therapy is advantageous.
  • Background in outpatient clinics or specialty practices including dermatology (dermal fillers), esthetic laser treatments, or home care is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10) and documentation standards for accurate billing and recordkeeping.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in teaching hospitals or research environments is a plus.
