Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to collaborate with our nephrologist in providing comprehensive care for patients with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) and a spectrum of acute and chronic kidney disorders. This critical role involves managing patients in both outpatient dialysis units and inpatient hospital settings. The successful candidate will work autonomously and in partnership with the supervising physician to assess, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic kidney conditions, with responsibilities balanced across both dialysis and general nephrology services.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct medical care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up, for ESRD patients in affiliated outpatient dialysis units.
- Perform inpatient consultations and follow-up care for patients with various kidney disorders and those undergoing dialysis in the hospital setting.
- Collaborate closely with nephrologist and dialysis unit staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.
- Educate patients and families on disease management, treatment options, and overall health.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records, utilizing Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) program or an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program.
- Licensure: Current, unrestricted professional license to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
- CPR/AED certification
Commitment to Training: While experience in Nephrology is preferred, we are committed to providing comprehensive clinical training and mentorship for highly qualified individuals.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in Nephrology, Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) management, or related specialty.
- Experience managing patients with dialysis and in a hospital or inpatient setting.
- Familiarity and proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, preferably EPIC.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
