Full Job Description

OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals. This position requires a strong foundation in internal medicine, clinical research, and a commitment to improving public health outcomes. The Physician Assistant will be instrumental in diagnosing and treating patients, while also contributing to the educational environment of our teaching hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Assist in the operating room (OR) during surgical procedures as needed.
  • Maintain accurate medical records using ICD-9 coding for diagnoses.
  • Engage in clinical research activities to advance medical knowledge and practices:
  • Educate patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options.
  • Participate in public health initiatives to promote community wellness.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Strong background in dermatology; experience in procedures is a plus.
  • Familiarity with teaching hospital environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of ICD-9 coding for accurate medical documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a focus on patient education and counseling.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and public health advocacy.

Pay: From $125,000.00 per year
