JOB DESCRIPTION: Pediatric Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant

LOCATION: Quad Cities – Davenport, IA / Rock Island, IL

JOB REQUIREMENTS: MSN with PNP, FNP, DNP or related degree or foreign degree equivalent; licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Iowa; Board-certified or Board-eligible in internal medicine; complete or be eligible to complete requirements for the practice of medicine in the State of Iowa, including state agreements for payment of health services under Medicare and Medicaid; eligible for Drug Enforcement Agency permission to prescribe and maintain controlled substances.

HIGHLY PREFERRED: 2+ Years of direct Primary Care / Pediatric providers experience

JOB DUTIES: In this role, the provider will be responsible for delivering exceptional, family-centered care to pediatric patients – including but not limited to conducting comprehensive assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, and providing education to patients and their families.

This is an out-patient role performing comprehensive pediatric care in a medically underserved area, including prevention, diagnosis and treatment for patients with chronic or acute health care problems; practice medicine in accordance with generally accepted medical care standards; provides hospitalization and follow-up services and consults as necessary and appropriate; provides at least the minimum scheduled hours of office practice; carries out supervisor preceptorships of extender staff and other appropriate educational preceptorships; participates in appropriate professional continuing medical education as appropriate to physicians individual information needs and maintain licensure; maintain knowledge of community resources for both social and medical referrals.
