Responsibilities
Looking for an energetic NP/PA to join our dynamic Advanced Heart Failure team to provide comprehensive inpatient care to critically and chronically ill patient populations that include advanced heart failure, ventricular assist device (VAD), transplant and pulmonary hypertension. We work in a multidisciplinary, collaborative way to provide world class patient centered care.
- In this role, the APP will utilize comprehensive assessment skills and knowledge of clinical therapeutics to evaluate, diagnose, manage and treat patients in the inpatient setting.
- Must be able to make modifications to the plan of care as necessary while also identifying psychosocial and educational needs of the patient and family.
- The APP will be responsible for admissions, consults and discharges and must be able to perform detailed histories and physicals.
- The clinician must be able to interpret multiple sources of data to make clinical judgments and develop a plan of care for the patient under the direction of the Advanced Heart Failure Physicians and determine the effectiveness of the plan of care.
- Be able to prescribe appropriate guideline directed medical therapy.
- Participates in multidisciplinary morning rounds and transplant/VAD selection meetings.
- Provide education to patients and families.

Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
One or more of the following:
- Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Physician Assistant credentialed from the Indiana Physician Assistant Committee obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Preferred Credential(s):
- Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Orthopedic Physician Assistant.
- Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- 1 year of experience preferred.
