We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our outpatient Pain Management team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced work environment and are eager to learn and grow professionally within the field of chronic and acute pain management. Prior experience is not required, making this an ideal opportunity for recent graduates or those looking to specialize in pain care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to patients experiencing acute and chronic pain conditions in an outpatient setting.
- Perform thorough physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., imaging, labs), and collaboratively develop personalized, multimodal treatment plans.
- Manage conservative treatment modalities, including medication management (with appropriate controlled substance prescribing protocols), physical therapy referrals, and non-pharmacologic strategies.
- Collaborate closely with Physiatrists, Anesthesiologists, and Pain Specialists to determine appropriate interventional procedures and specialty referrals.
- Educate patients and their families on pain conditions, self-management techniques, treatment goals, and medication risks/benefits.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with all healthcare and regulatory standards.
- Participate in continuous professional development focused on evidence-based pain practices.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the state of practice.
- Graduated from an accredited NP or PA program.
- Highly adaptable, able to manage a diverse patient load, and work effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive patient conversations with empathy.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
- Background or interest in Pain Management, Orthopedics, or Anesthesiology is a plus, but not required.
