Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Infectious Disease Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients with infectious diseases, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of patients with infectious diseases.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families about infectious diseases, treatment options, and preventive measures.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Stay current with advancements in infectious disease management and treatment protocols.
What you can expect:
- Hospital rounding and consultative service at Franciscan Hospital South Indianapolis.
- Most common diagnoses: HIV, Hepatitis C., C-Diff, Osteomyelitis.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team, hospitalists, pulmonary/critical care team, along with other specialty physicians.
- Schedule is structured in a block fashion, which would include daytime hours, working weekdays, weekends and assigned holidays.

Physical Demands:
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for prolonged periods of time. Requires normal visual acuity and hearing. Requires exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids. Requires working under stress in emergency situations or during irregular hours.
Typical Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a hospital setting. Involves frequent contact with sick patients.

Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Board Certified Physician Assistant and state licensure.
- BLS and ACLS Certified
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of current guidelines and best practices in infectious disease management.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous professional development.
Education and Experience:
- Graduated from a certified Physician Assistant program, which entails training as well as practice in the above mentioned duties.
