Full Job Description
Fast paced medical practice is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our specialty practice. The PA or NP is responsible for ongoing medication management and evaluation of patient conditions.
- Perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations, interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests. Interpret and correlate subjective and objective data to formulate a differential diagnosis and establish a working diagnosis. Formulate a treatment plan for orthopedic conditions. Implement therapeutic intervention for specific conditions when appropriate. Exercise judgment on conditions requiring consultation, referral or evaluation by other healthcare professionals.
- Order, collect and perform appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies, such as routine laboratory tests, EMG, electrocardiogram and radiologic examinations including arthrogram, ultrasound, CT, MRI and bone scan studies
- Provide emotional, moral and educational support to patient and family members. Maintains confidentiality of patient information. Preoperative and general patient education. Patient education regarding procedures and tests (MRI, CT scans, EMG/NCV). Obtain and distribute appropriate patient teaching literature with an appropriate review with the patient for understanding.
- Patient problem calls: preop and postop questions, medication inquiries and refills, other concerns patient may have.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Indiana license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Requires excellent organizational skills and the ability prioritize and efficiently manage all responsibilities
