Fort Wayne Medical Oncology & Hematology is looking to add an Exciting Opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner! Join our dynamic team as a Nurse Practitioner and embark on a journey that will keep you constantly engaged and excited!

Your Monday through Friday {8a-5p} days will be filled with thrilling challenges, working alongside multi-disciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses & exam team members fostering an atmosphere of collaboration, creativity, and inspiration.

As an advanced practice registered nurse superstar, you’ll be one of our go-to people for ensuring the best patient care possible. Some key expectations include the following:

1. Providing education & information to each patient on disease, laboratory values, chemotherapy regimens and their potential side effects, proper home care following procedures and other information as directed by provider.

2. Responsible for formulating and reviewing logical, safe & individualized care plans which contain diagnostic, therapeutic and educational components following established policies for treatment & procedures.

3. Completing telephone triage, coordinating instructions & information from providers to patients and electronically documenting all calls.

4. Ordering and evaluating appropriate diagnostic tests with supportive rationale in accordance to physician standards.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in a clinic, hospital, ER or other medical office setting – Required minimum of 1 year prior NP or PA experience
  • Expertise in primary care, acute care and chronic care practices
  • Knowledge of health and patient care regulations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong ethics
  • Team spirit with a positive attitude
  • Patience and cool-headedness
  • Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience
  • Valid nurse practitioner or PA license
