Full Job Description
- Specialty: Physician Assistant – Cardiac Surgery
- Schedule: Monday through Friday with rotating in-house weekends.
- Call Schedule: no after hour calls
- Practice Detail: 6 Cardiac Surgeons and 12 Advanced Practice Providers
- EMR System: Sunrise/Athena
- Facility: St. Vincent Center Heart Center & St. Vincent Indianapolis 86th Street
- Location: Indianapolis, IN and Carmel, IN

What You Will Do:
- Evaluates and treats cardiac surgery patients in the immediate pre and post-operative setting and services as the primary admitting service
- Manages acute and chronic comorbidities
- Works closely with multi-disciplinary team to coordinate patient throughout and discharge planning
- Obtains patient history and performs assessment. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.
- Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions.
- Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
- Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.

What You Will Need:
Required Credential(s):
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
One or more of the following:
- Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Physician Assistant credentialed from the Indiana Physician Assistant Committee obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Preferred Credential(s):
- Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Orthopedic Physician Assistant.
- Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- 1 year of experience preferred.
