We Are Hiring:

  • Specialty: Physician Assistant – Cardiac Surgery
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday with rotating in-house weekends.
  • Call Schedule: no after hour calls
  • Practice Detail: 6 Cardiac Surgeons and 12 Advanced Practice Providers
  • EMR System: Sunrise/Athena
  • Facility: St. Vincent Center Heart Center & St. Vincent Indianapolis 86th Street
  • Location: Indianapolis, IN and Carmel, IN
  • Visa Eligibility: none

What You Will Do:

Ascension. St. Vincent is looking for a Physician Assistant for our Cardiac Surgery team.
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension St. Vincent to provide medical services to patients.
Position Highlights:
  • Evaluates and treats cardiac surgery patients in the immediate pre and post-operative setting and services as the primary admitting service
  • Manages acute and chronic comorbidities
  • Works closely with multi-disciplinary team to coordinate patient throughout and discharge planning
Responsibilities:
  • Obtains patient history and performs assessment. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.
  • Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions.
  • Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
  • Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.

What You Will Need:

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Required Credential(s):

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

One or more of the following:

  • Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Physician Assistant credentialed from the Indiana Physician Assistant Committee obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Preferred Credential(s):

  • Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Orthopedic Physician Assistant.
Education:

  • Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
Work Experience:

  • 1 year of experience preferred.

Salary Description: From $88,129.60 a year
