Indiana University Health Medical Group is HIRING! We are seeking a patient-focused Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Advanced Heart Failure team practicing at Methodist Hospital in downtown Indianapolis!

Position Details:

  • PRN
    • 10- hour shifts- Days
  • No Call
  • 100% Inpatient
  • Work directly with 5 physicians and 4 APPs

Job Responsibilities:

  • This position will involve inpatient advanced heart failure management including initiation of guideline directed medical therapy, inpatient heart failure consults as well as new admissions/discharges and patient education for heart failure patients.

Patient Population:

  • Adult cardiology patients aged 17 through end of life with advanced heart failure

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years Advanced Heart Failure experience preferred
  • Master’s Degree required
  • ACNP, AGNP, FNP or PA

The provider needs to have excellent critical thinking skills and also will need to be able to multi-task in a high intensity setting. The candidate will need to have excellent communication skills to ensure plans of care are carried through as well as foster relationships across the multi-disciplinary team. The provider needs to have confidence in their clinical skill set to function top of scope.

IU Health Methodist Hospital is a regional healthcare leader through its commitment to excellence, accessibility and preeminence. Part of the IU Health Adult Academic Health Center, it is currently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as the top hospital in the state of Indiana, with 13 procedures/conditions rated as high performing.

With 1,000 beds, IU Health Methodist Hospital is a large tertiary referral center with over 130 ICU beds. It serves as the largest trauma center in Indianapolis, as well as a highly subspecialized center for cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, lung transplantation, and neurocritical care.

IU Health is building a new downtown hospital and campus, which will consolidate operations of the adjacent IU Health Methodist and University Hospitals. Construction for the new hospital is well underway and set to open in late 2027. It will feature three 16-story towers with 864 beds. IU School of Medicine is also constructing a medical education and research building directly east of the new hospital.
