Full Job Description

The Part-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides quality health care for the university community in an out-patient, clinic type setting located in the Magers Health and Wellness Center.

Description of Primary Duties

1. This position will complete initial psychiatric evaluations, establish treatment plans, prescribe, monitor and follow-up treatment for eligible members of the university community.

2. The Psychiatric NP/PA will understand their own qualification and limitations and seek consultation as required from their supervising provider.

3. Assists other members of the Health Center in providing health care to patients by using the medical team method when appropriate.

4. Assists in providing quality services which will ensure continued accreditation of the Health Center by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc.

5. Prevents institutional liability by maintaining current knowledge of all federal and state laws regarding the providing of health care and by maintaining current license to practice medicine in Missouri.

6. Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

7. Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses as required by their license.
8. Contributes to the overall success of the Magers Health and Wellness Center by performing all other duties and responsibilities as required.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

License: Licensure for your professional designation in the state of Missouri
Certification: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner =PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Physicians Assistant=Psychiatric CAQ
Experience: Preferred experience as psychiatric provider in a collaborative family practice model.
Preferred experience working with young adults.

Skills: The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.

Additional Qualifications Special Instructions to Applicants

This position will work between 15-20 hours per week
No weekends no evenings
