Full Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive evaluation and management of adult patients in outpatient and/or inpatient internal medicine settings
- Perform detailed histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions under physician supervision and within scope of practice
- Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory studies, imaging, and other diagnostic tests
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans
- Prescribe medications and durable medical equipment in accordance with state and institutional guidelines
- Coordinate care and communicate effectively with supervising physicians, specialists, nursing staff, and ancillary services
- Deliver patient education and counseling on disease management, medication use, preventive health, and lifestyle modification
- Document all clinical encounters in the electronic health record accurately and timely
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, care-pathway development, and departmental projects as assigned
- Assist with transitions of care, including discharge planning and follow-up coordination
Qualifications:
- Current Physician Assistant license (Illinois) and NCCPA certification
- Completion of an accredited PA program
- Experience in internal medicine or primary care preferred; new graduates considered depending on practice needs
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with supervising physicians
Pay: $80,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
