Medi-Weightloss® has an incredible opportunity for a part-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our talented team & deliver exceptional patient care at our Elk Grove Village, IL clinic.

The NP/PA provides patient care; conducts physical exams; completes health history summary; documents patients’ progress and assists with patient care management under the direct supervision of the Medical Director.

Job Functions

  • Obtains and reviews patient’s medical history information relevant to patient care
  • Conducts physical examinations
  • Orders and reviews laboratory studies as well as diagnostic procedures
  • Assumes responsibility for prescribing FDA approved appetite suppressants according to state and federal guidelines
  • Reviews patient’s progress and manages patient care accordingly
  • Maintains all required documentation for patient care and medication management
  • Conducts patient consultations and provides preventive medicine counseling.
  • Provides training to clinical and non-clinical staff as needed
  • Documents patient progress notes in the patient chart and/or EMR.
  • Performs other clinical duties as required to support the team
  • Conducts follow up calls to patients to discuss the patient’s progress and address any concerns

Requirements

  • Must have valid IL Medical License
  • Valid IL DEA License (candidates without an active DEA License but eligible and willing to obtain one are encouraged to apply)
  • Current CAQH profile (Preferred)
  • Credentialed provider (Preferred)
  • Must be team player and enjoy changing lives!

Learn More

In our largest and most comprehensive five-year clinical trial published in The Journal of Public Health, we found that our patients:

  • Lost significant weight – body weight reduced by 14% in the first 13 weeks of the program and by 21% by week 39.
  • Reduced BMI – BMI dropped by five points in the first 13 weeks of the program and by almost eight points by week 52.
  • Lost body fat – body fat percentage decreased by about 12% in the first 13 weeks of the program.
  • Improved cholesterol – HDL “good” cholesterol levels increased by 35% in 9 months and LDL “bad” levels decreased.
  • Lowered blood sugar – at week 13 serum glucose was found to have reduced by about 4%, and again by about 8% at 26 weeks.
  • Lowered blood pressure – Systolic Blood Pressure fell from an average of 125 mm Hg to an average of 118 mm Hg by week 13. Diastolic blood pressure fell from an average of 80 mm Hg to 77 mm Hg.
  • Eliminated or reduced their risk of developing Metabolic Syndrome – the prevalence of Metabolic Syndrome within the study population was reduced by 45% in only 13 weeks and subsequently by 73% at 52 weeks in patients.
