Position Summary
Roosevelt University, College of Science, Health and Pharmacy, Schaumburg, IL, is seeking applications for a part-time Medical Director of the Physician Assistant [PA] Studies program to begin June 9th, 2026. Roosevelt has recently applied for provisional accreditation with the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. [ARC-PA] with a planned program start date in August 2028.
Reporting to the Program Director, the Medical Director serves as a key member of the principal faculty, providing expertise in clinical medicine to the program. The Medical Director will assist the Program Director in ensuring that the curriculum, clinical training, and student assessment methods meet all ARC-PA accreditation standards, specifically those relating to entry-level competence.

The Medical Director will also provide advice and oversight regarding the medical accuracy of the curriculum and the quality of clinical experiences available to students and serve as an advocate for the program within the medical and academic communities.

The salary range for this position is $30,000-$40,000

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in building and maintaining professional relationships with prospective students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present effectively in one-onone, small group, and large audience settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage respectfully and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Public speaking proficiency and comfort presenting program information to varied audiences.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a commitment to service excellence and student-centered engagement.
  • Familiarity with Roosevelt University’s mission, values, and vision, and the ability to represent them authentically in all interactions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn and utilize CRM systems such as Slate and centralized application platforms like PharmCAS.
Years of Experience Required
Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience

Required Education
Masters Degree

Certification/Licensure Required

Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently or previously licensed PA or osteopathic or allopathic physician
  • Currently or previously board-certified
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five (5) years of clinical experience
  • Knowledgeable about the PA role and have experience with the PA scope of practice
Equipment Operated
Basic office equipment (laptop computer, copier/multi-function device, fax and telephone).

Working Conditions
Standard office environment with regular use of laptop, phone, copier, and other office equipment.
