Dr. Vakili at Smiles of Peoria is looking for an experienced clinical dental assistant to join our new boutique office. Smiles of Peoria is a comprehensive dental practice that offers a unique experience to our patients. We are a patient care and technology driven private practice in the heart of Peoria. We are looking for an individual that wants to work with other team members and have fun while providing exceptional patient care and service. Job Summary:
The primary purpose of the Dental Assistant is to assist the dentist in providing quality, efficient, and friendly care to patients. The ideal candidate will be friendly, energetic, enthusiastic, motivated, hard working, and have a passion for helping others. They will also be eager to learn new skills and advance with our evolving practice.
Essential Job Functions:Assist dentist with various duties within scope of practice (e.g., assisting at chairside dentistry, general dental care, X-rays, digital photography, digital case design, etc.)
- Ensure patient safety by enforcing infection control protocols
- Prepare patients for treatments and check their teeth before each visit
- Assist the dentist in preparing patients for treatments and check their teeth before each visit
- Perform lab work with state of the art dental lab equipment, including the SprintRay 3D printer, Intra-Oral digital scanners and Cerec milling equipment.
- Prepare instruments for different dentists by sterilizing materials, cleaning instruments, storing supplies, etc.
- Provide patient education by answering questions and explaining procedures and forwarding patient education information, pamphlets and videos.
- Assist dentist in maintaining digital records and obtaining digital images for diagnostics.
- Maintain superior level of continuing education with the office’s assistance.
- Keeping clinical areas service ready at all times by stocking supplies and maintaining best practices with OSHA protocals.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to general dentistry and pediatrics for effective communication within the healthcare team. Pay: $24.00 – $28.00 per hour
