Critical Care Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant Peoria, Illinois WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking an experienced Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a highly collaborative ICU team in Peoria, Illinois. This opportunity offers exposure to a diverse, high-acuity patient population across Neuro, Cardiac, and Medical ICU step-down units with strong physician, fellow, and resident support. Assignment Overview Specialty: Critical Care Medicine Location: Peoria, IL Setting: Inpatient ICU Step-Down Units Schedule: Night Shift Coverage Shift Hours: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM Coverage Days: Monday Sunday Minimum Scheduling Requirement: 3 Consecutive Shifts Providers must have at least one day off after working six consecutive shifts No Call Required EMR: Epic Clinical Responsibilities Manage approximately patients per shift Evaluate and treat critically ill patients Develop and implement treatment plans Perform bedside procedures including: Central Line Placement Arterial Line Placement Manage post-operative cardiovascular surgery patients Care for neurocritical care patients including: Subdural Hemorrhages External Ventricular Drains (EVDs) Participate in management of advanced cardiac support patients including: Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs) VA ECMO Heart Transplant Patients Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care Coverage Model & Support Three APPs provide coverage across: Neuro ICU Step-Down Cardiac ICU Step-Down Medical ICU Step-Down Pulmonary patients managed in step-down units with support from an on-site Pulmonary Fellow Trauma Residents available on-site NICU Residents available on-site Attending Physicians available for consultation and support Providers do not work independently Preferred Experience Prior Critical Care NP or PA experience required Experience managing high-acuity ICU patients Comfortable performing bedside procedures Neurocritical Care experience preferred Cardiovascular Critical Care experience preferred Experience with: VADs ECMO Heart Transplant Patients Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary ICU team Requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Active Illinois License Required at Time of Presentation Illinois DEA Required Illinois CSR Required ACLS Certification Required BLS Certification Required Minimum One Year Experience Required Active State License Required IMLC Candidates Will Not Be Considered Why Consider This Opportunity?
