Full Job Description

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a compassionate Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Digestive Surgery Team!

As a provider for our Digestive Surgery department, you will function as an independent healthcare provider who, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team, is responsible for providing comprehensive care to both well and ill patients in an outpatient setting. You will use your clinical expertise in working with patients with acute and chronic illnesses.

In this role you will use the scientific process and national standards of care as a framework for managing patient care. You will make an assessment of a patients health status, make a diagnosis, develop a treatment plan, implement a plan that is consistent with the appropriate plan of care, follow up and evaluate the patients status, educate patient and/or patients family, provide continuity of competent care, and you will support research that supports evidence based practice specific to your patient population focus, as well as in the areas of pharmacology, disease prevention, epidemiology, medical technology and more.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Current licensure in the State of Idaho
  • Masters or Doctorates degree from accredited Medical Program or Nursing Program
  • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification upon hire
  • Must be able to achieve ACLS certification within six months of employment
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with others
  • Prior experience with Joint Commission continual readiness
  • Previous experiencepreferred
