Full Job Description
Post Falls Family Medicine is recruiting a Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant to join our team. Post Falls Family Medicine has been providing care for decades and is a highly reputable organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
This is not an exhaustive list, but more of a general description.
· Provides medical patient care by interviewing and examining in treating patients at Post Falls Family Medicine.
· Determine which referrals are necessary based on examination
· Determines the level of urgency on follow-up, referral/consultation appointments
· Exercises medical judgment in all issues of health care, including appropriate medication dosing, follow-up intervals, and response to abnormal drug screens
· Prescribes medications appropriately
· Orders studies, tests, and ancillary services as clinically indicated
· Documents all services in patients medical records in a manner consistent with CPT coding and E&M documentation guidelines without receiving undue influence on the manner in which this occurs
· Consults with Physicians and other professionals on staff as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues
· Participates in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs.
· Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations.
Job Type: 4 days per week, must be willing to work closing shift (up to 5 pm).
· No on call
· No Weekends or nights
Physician Assistant:
· Bachelor’s degree in health science required.
· Physician’s Assistant Certificate of Registration with the Idaho Medical Board, and is certified as a Physician’s Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants required.
· Qualified under the rules of the DEA for prescriptive practices required.
· Qualified under CMS regulations for patient care and billing practices required.
· BLS Required.
Nurse Practitioner:
· MSN degree or higher from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required.
· Nationally recognized as a Nurse Practitioner
· Clinical experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
· Holds a current NP and RN license to practice in the state of Idaho required.
· BLS Required.
Physical Demands:
· On feet, a minimum of 8-12 hours, depending on the length of shift.
· Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
· Read charts, dials, equipment settings, literature, and other printed and handwritten materials.
· Communicate with patients, physicians, families, and co-workers in person and on the telephone.
· Work with equipment and manipulate equipment settings, computer keyboards, etc.
