Central District Health (CDH) is currently recruiting for a motivated individual to join our dedicated group of public health professionals as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in our Medical Clinic. This position will work in our Boise office, with occasional support provided to our Mountain Home and McCall offices.

Typical Duties:

  • The provider will function in a Public Health clinical environment. This requires sound clinical judgment and problem solving, excellent clinic and communication skills and the ability to lead a clinical team;
  • Provides direct client care for acute and chronic illness and disease including assessing, diagnosing, planning, and prescribing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments, therapeutic and corrective measures, and health promotion and preventive care;
  • Provides diagnoses and management for patient medical care and illnesses based on history, examination, and appropriate tests. Refers to specialists as needed;
  • Initiates, performs and interprets screening for laboratory tests. Prescribes medication in accordance with established protocols and current best practices;
  • Works with internal team to assess clinical workflows to improve efficiencies;
  • May require occasional travel to satellite clinics in Mountain Home and McCall to serve rural counties;
  • Provides routine services to Ada County Juvenile Detention and Ada County Jail residents;
  • Participates in additional assigned projects as needed, which may include outreach programs, response to public health emergencies and/or outbreaks, and community education;
  • Conducts peer review and case discussion with internal team;
  • Provides educational trainings to peers and internal team members;
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient records;
  • Follows all federal, state, and nursing/board of medicine guidelines, regulations, and standards;
  • Precepts students in their discipline and Full Circle Health resident physicians at times;
  • Utilizes Electronic Health Record to document patient care, establish and recommend changes for efficient EHR workflows, and ensure quality measures are met for patient care;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Eligibility for registration as Physician Assistant with the Board of Medicine or Nurse Practitioner with the Board of Nursing.
