Job Overview:
Responsibilities: Part time medical assistant opening for primary care medical office practice near downtown St Luke’s hospital. Ideal for a pre Med, pre PA, or pre nursing student to gain hands on job experience, approximately 16-20 hours per week, ( M through Thursday 8:30 am- 1:00 pm) one afternoon per month, with some flexibility in scheduling.
CNA or medical background a plus but willing to train the right candidate.
Responsibilities include greeting and rooming patients, obtaining a short medical history, obtaining vital signs , entering data into electronic medical record, setting up exam rooms, assisting with minor procedures, administering vaccinations (will train) , drawing blood for labs (will train), scheduling appointments and diagnostic tests, communicating test results to patients, scanning documents and answering phones as needed,
-Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including documenting patient information, medical history, and test results- Provide medical administrative support, such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and managing patient inquiries- Ensure compliance with medical protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and sterile environment- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure seamless coordination of patient care- Provide excellent patient service by addressing patient concerns and providing emotional support
Experience:- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role is preferred- Proficiency in medical terminology and basic life support techniques
Skills:- Experience working in a clinical setting is highly desirable- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and administrative staff- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and manage multiple tasks simultaneously- Ability to perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs accurately and efficiently- Compassionate nature with the ability to provide emotional support to patients during their healthcare journey
