Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Physician specializing in Nephrology to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with kidney-related conditions, including chronic kidney disease, electrolyte imbalances, hypertension, and end-stage renal disease. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes through comprehensive care, innovative treatment approaches, and collaborative clinical practices. - Conduct thorough patient assessments including medical history review, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations specific to nephrology.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate medication management, dialysis coordination, and lifestyle modifications.
- Manage inpatient and outpatient nephrology cases across various settings, ensuring continuity of care.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic and other EMR platforms to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including radiology for medical imaging interpretation, cardiology for cardiovascular-nephrology overlap, and endocrinology for metabolic disorders.
- Perform procedures such as dialysis access placement, biopsies, and other minimally invasive interventions following aseptic techniques.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives to advance nephrology practices and contribute to evidence-based medicine.
- Educate patients on disease management strategies including nutrition, medication adherence, and lifestyle changes to optimize health outcomes.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of nephrology principles including physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology relevant to kidney health.
- Proficiency with EHR systems like Epic and EMR systems for documentation and patient management.
- Experience with medical imaging techniques such as ultrasound-guided procedures and interpretation of diagnostic radiology reports.
- Strong understanding of perioperative care protocols for patients undergoing nephrological procedures.
- Ability to perform vascular interventional radiography procedures such as catheterization for dialysis access.
- Critical care experience managing acute kidney injury in ICU settings with airway management skills.
- Familiarity with hospital experience standards including inpatient care workflows and discharge planning processes.
- Knowledge of CPT coding for billing purposes related to nephrological procedures and treatments.
- Excellent patient service skills with a focus on compassionate communication and health coaching strategies.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams across specialties such as cardiology, endocrinology, pulmonology, and internal medicine to deliver comprehensive patient care. Pay: $239,200.00 – $245,000.00 per year
