Job SummaryThis is a well-established gastroenterology practice offering comprehensive care to patients with digestive disorders. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant, preferably with Gastroenterology experience to join our healthcare team.

The Physican Assistant (PA) will work closely with our gastroenterologist in diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with a variety of gastrointestinal conditions. The PA will provide a high level of patient care in the outpatient setting including conducting physical exams, interpreting lab results, and education patients on treatment plans.

Duties

• Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including taking medical histories and performing physical examinations.
• Assist in diagnosing and managing common GI conditions (e.g., GERD, IBD, UC liver diseases).
• Order and interpret medical imaging studies relevant to gastrointestinal health.
• Provide patient education on GI health, treatment options, and lifestyle management.
• Participate in follow-up care and coordinate with multidisiplinary teams as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including coding for diagnoses using ICD-10 standards.
• Participate in the practices clinical research studies as a sub-investigator.
• Stay updated with advancements in gastroenterology practices and technologies.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid PA license in Georgia.
• Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Experience in gastroenterology or related specialty is preferred but not required.
• Knowledgeable in medical imaging interpretation related to gastroenterology.
• Ability to conduct thorough diagnostic evaluations effectively.
• Familiarity with ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation of patient diagnoses.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams.

Salary commensurate with experience. There is flexibility in days of the week and hours worked.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $75.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
