OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in minimally invasive procedures in clinical settings and outpatient lab. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment utilizing advanced medical systems and procedures, contributing significantly to patient care and clinical research initiatives. The Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional healthcare services across diverse patient populations.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital sign measurements, and medical history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging, venous and arterial ultrasounds, CT, MRI’s.
- Assist in surgical procedures with skills in suturing, vein ablations, sclerotherapy, phlebectomy, and varithena treatments.
- Manage inpatient visits on occassions and pain management in acute cases
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining detailed medical records and documentation for billing (CPT coding) and ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10).
- Participate in triage protocols, discharge planning, infection control practices, and patient education on health coaching and nutrition.
- Support public health initiatives through data collection and research activities related to infectious disease care and other specialties such as geriatrics and family planning.
Requirements
- Certification as a Physician Assistant with current licensure to practice in the state of employment.
- Proven experience with EMR systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, diagnostic evaluation techniques, medication administration, aseptic technique, and basic life support (BLS).
- Experience administering injections and performing physical examinations across diverse patient populations including pediatrics (neonatal ventilator support), geriatrics, ICU patients (ventilator management), and post-surgical cases.
- Critical care experience preferred; hospital experience in emergency room or trauma center settings highly desirable.
- Ability to perform complex procedures such as spinal taps, cardiac catheterization assistance or radiation therapy support is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations along with excellent patient assessment skills; capable of working independently or within multidisciplinary teams.
- Must pass background checks and drug screening prior to employment; commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and aseptic techniques. Pay: $104,424.45 – $125,758.48 per year
