Cetechs is looking for a Physician Assistant to join our Emergency Department team at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Augusta, GA. The Physician Assistant are members of our Interdisciplinary Team and responsible for assisting the physicians while providing treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions. He/she will administer medication, monitor and record patient progress, and educate families and the patient as needed. Treatment modalities are inclusive of standard medical care that is offered in a safe, effective, efficient, and compassionate manner. The ideal candidate will display compassion, education, proficiency and experience while assisting the patient. Basic Requirements:
- Physician Assistant
- Master’s degree in any discipline or a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with two years of experience as a Physician Assistant ~AND~
- Successfully passed the PA National Certifying Exam (PANCE) (or are you in the process to taking the exam) ~AND~
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a Physician Assistant in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
- Must be a US Citizen;
Responsibilities:
- Utilize advanced skills in assessment, problem identification and clarification, treatment, planning and implementation of the patient’s treatment plan.
- Will have prescription authority as defined in their scope of practice.
- Uses sound clinical judgment in assessing, planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating care.
- Anticipates and recognizes medical/surgical/psychiatric emergencies and initiates or leads others to implement appropriate and timely actions.
- Uses advanced clinical knowledge/judgment to promote staff involvement in planning, decision-making, and evaluating outcomes.
- Functions as an expert in clinical practice and/or areas related to the assigned roles and responsibilities.
- Systematically evaluates current practice and formulates outcomes for groups of patients and/or organizational processes within area of expertise.
- Uses professional standards of care, scientific evidence, and practice to evaluate programs/service activities.
- Demonstrates grade-appropriate and consistent critical thinking skills.
- Practices in accordance with appropriate Scope of Practice.
