Nurse Practitioner Job Description
Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and the ability to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including nursing homes, acute care facilities, and home care environments. This role requires proficiency in medical documentation and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, including physical examinations and medical histories.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and clinical guidelines.
- Administer treatments such as tube feeding and catheterization as required.
- Manage acute pain effectively, utilizing appropriate interventions for pain relief.
- Operate neonatal ventilators for patients requiring respiratory support in critical situations.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding health management and disease prevention.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in teaching hospitals to enhance patient care delivery.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery within the practice.
Requirements
- Current Nurse Practitioner license and certification in the state of practice.
- Experience in acute care settings or nursing homes is preferred.
- Proficiency in performing tube feeding, catheterization, and managing acute pain conditions.
- Familiarity with neonatal ventilator operation is a plus.
- Strong skills in medical documentation and patient education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
Schedule: 6p-7a or 6a-7p, weekday and weekend shifts available
Multiple facility locations
Patient Volume: 10-15 per day
Procedures: Airway management, including endotracheal intubation, extraglottic device placement, and safe use of RSI medications
Will interpret ABGs, CXRs, ultrasounds, and chest CTs
Support Staff: RNs, care coordinators, consultant groups
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & lodging
Pay: $121,697.00 – $129,216.00 per year
