Urgent Care Orthopedic Physician Assistant Job Summary

The Orthopedic Urgent Care Physician Assistant plays a crucial role within our dynamic healthcare team, providing high-quality orthopedic care in a fast-paced urgent care environment. This position demands a skilled and compassionate clinician who can deliver effective patient care, manage acute orthopedic injuries, and work collaboratively with orthopedic surgeons and medical staff. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations and assessments in accordance with established protocols.
  • Diagnose and manage acute orthopedic conditions, providing prompt care for injuries such as fractures, sprains, and dislocations.
  • Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons and medical staff to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Perform procedures such as joint injections, aspirating effusions, and applying casts or splints as necessary.
  • Educate patients and their families about orthopedic conditions, treatment options, and rehabilitation protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient encounters, treatments, and follow-up care in the electronic health record system.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and contribute to enhancing patient care and service delivery within the orthopedic department.

Requirements:

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of practice.
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Minimum of two years of experience in orthopedic urgent care or a related field preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to perform orthopedic assessments and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach to care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment and manage high patient volumes under pressure.
