Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Collect patient vital signs, medical histories, and current medications accurately to support clinical assessments
- Prepare examination rooms, assist with procedures such as lab draws, medication administration, vaccinations and ensure cleanliness and readiness of clinical areas
- Manage appointment scheduling, appointment confirmations, and follow-up communications to optimize clinic flow
- Support clinical staff with intake processes, ICD coding for diagnoses, and documentation of patient encounters
- Handle administrative tasks including answering phones, managing patient records, and coordinating referrals or laboratory orders
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations by adhering to HIPAA privacy standards and safety protocols
Skills
- Strong knowledge of dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, and medical-surgical practices
- Experience with EHR systems and proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology concepts, ICD coding, and medication administration
- Ability to perform vital signs measurement, patient intake assessments, and basic life support (BLS) certification is preferred
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to geriatrics, internal medicine patients, or clinic experience is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as emergency departments or urgent care clinics
