We are seeking a motivated and experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing Orthopedic Spine Surgery team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality patient care in both clinic and surgical settings. This role works closely with orthopedic and spine surgeons to evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage patients with spinal conditions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient evaluations, histories, and physical examinations
- Assist physicians in developing and implementing treatment plans
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care and education
- First assist in orthopedic spine surgical procedures
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and labs
- Perform injections, wound care, splinting, casting, and other in-office procedures as permitted
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the EMR
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, therapy teams, and ancillary departments to ensure continuity of care
- Respond to patient questions, prescription requests, and follow-up care needs
- Participate in call rotation as needed
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current PA license in the state of practice
- NCCPA certification required
- DEA license and prescriptive authority required
- Orthopedic spine experience preferred ; not required
- Surgical first assist experience strongly preferred; not required
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
