Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Locum Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant – Surgery – Orthopedic for our client in Georgia!
Responsibility
- Provide direct patient care in an outpatient orthopedic surgery setting
- Manage a combination of hand, joint, and sports patients
- Perform patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and follow up on patient progress
- Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons and the healthcare team to ensure quality care
- Document patient encounters accurately in the EMR system (Epic)
- Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, and post-operative care
- Maintain compliance with clinical protocols, policies, and regulations
Qualification
- Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
- Must be Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in relevant specialty
- Active Georgia state license required
- Previous experience in orthopedic surgery or outpatient orthopedic care preferred
- Familiarity with Epic EMR system
Schedule
- Coverage from 5/28/2026 – 8/28/2026
- Clinical hours only
- Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Average patient load of 21 patients per shift
Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills in orthopedic conditions
- Ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans
- Excellent patient communication and education skills
- Proficient in EMR documentation (Epic)
- Collaborative team player with orthopedic surgeons and support staff
- Time management and organizational skills to handle a high-volume outpatient clinic
All travel expenses are reimbursed by our client and Orchard covers malpractice insurance with tail coverage!
