Ideal candidates with Orthopaedic experience are preferred, but we also welcome new graduates with formal Orthopaedic training to apply. This role involves a balanced schedule, allowing you to work in both clinical and surgical settings. This position will require travel, primarily between our Plant City and Winter Haven locations.

Duties

  • Evaluate patients and initiate treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians.
  • Maintain accurate medical records using office and hospital EMR systems.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients regarding their health conditions and treatment options.
  • Split the workweek between approximately three clinic days and two operating room days, assisting in minor and major Orthopaedic procedures.
  • Alternate daily hospital rounds, including new patient consultations and post-operative care.
  • Participate in shared weekend call rotation: approximately one weekend every eight weeks with the potential of one holiday call per year. Call weekend duties include hospital rounds and surgical cases.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment while supporting physicians and clinical staff.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and training.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), and Florida state licensure.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Orthopaedics is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
