Nurse Practitioner Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of patient care, with experience across various medical settings. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients, while collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The Nurse Practitioner will have the opportunity to work in diverse environments, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, and assisted living facilities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on clinical evaluations.
- Administer medications, injections, and IV infusions as required.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations and interpret results for effective treatment planning.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding health management and disease prevention.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in managing acute and chronic conditions.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives to enhance patient care practices.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth for efficient patient record management.
- Engage in telehealth consultations as needed to expand access to care.
Qualifications
- Current Nurse Practitioner licensure and certification in the state of practice.
- Experience in primary care, urgent care, or specialty areas such as pediatrics or geriatrics is preferred.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and medical documentation practices.
- Familiarity with various medical procedures including suturing, catheterization, phlebotomy, and airway management.
- Knowledge of chronic disease management including diabetes care, pain management, and infectious disease treatment.
- Experience with critical care settings such as ICU or Level I/II trauma centers is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to NCQA standards.
