We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Pain Management Advanced Practice Provider (APP – Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant) to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive pain management services to patients with chronic pain conditions mostly in the ALF and Acute Rehabilitation Facility setting. APP will work autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals and other healthcare providers, refer patients to specialists, when necessary, diagnose and manage patients’ pain related health care problems. APP will maintain a protocol with supervising physician, as required by state professional regulatory agencies. Current and valid unrestricted licensure in the state of Florida as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required. APP must already have their Florida Medicare number. Salary commensurate with education and experience. Full benefit package including, 15 days of PTO, 5 days of CME – $2000, major holidays off, medical/dental benefits available, 401K match after 1 year.
Bilingual Spanish/English speaker a plus.
Primary responsibilities include:
New patient evaluations and follow up care, conducting thorough physical assessments and medical history evaluations of patients to determine the root cause of their pain.
Order a range of diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, MRIs, and laboratory tests and with direct medical oversight to help with diagnosis and treatment.
Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients, including both pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain management options.
Prescribe pain medications including opiate and adjuvant analgesics, treatment regimens that are appropriate and relevant to the patient’s current painful medical conditions.
Administer simple pain injections, and other treatments to manage pain and related symptoms.
Educate patients and their families about their pain management options.
Monitor the effectiveness of treatment plans and adjust as necessary.
Work closely and communicate test results with patients when needed.
Home call including some weekends duties are expected.
Document all patient interactions and treatment plans in electronic medical records in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in hospital inpatient,ALF and Acute Rehabilitation Facility, or pain management setting. This is a fast paced and multiple location employment opportunity with possible leadership opportunities for the right candidate.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
