Physician Assistant (PA) – Rheumatology

Location: Florida (On-Site)Schedule: Full-TimeEmployment Type: Exempt

About the Role

We are seeking a Board-Certified Physician Assistant (PA) to join a growing Rheumatology specialty practice in Florida. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced rheumatologists in an outpatient setting, managing complex autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. Rheumatology or other specialty experience is strongly preferred.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform patient histories, physical exams, and clinical assessments
  • Assist in diagnosing and managing rheumatologic conditions under physician supervision
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician
  • Order and review laboratory and diagnostic studies per delegation
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with Florida law and supervising physician agreement
  • Support management of biologics, DMARDs, and specialty medications
  • Participate in infusion-related patient care under physician direction
  • Educate patients on disease processes, medications, and treatment plans
  • Document all patient encounters accurately in the EMR
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and care coordination teams

Infusion-Related Scope

  • Participate in infusion patient assessments and follow-up care
  • Monitor infusion patients and assist with adverse reaction management as directed
  • Document infusion-related clinical care

Note: This role does not include independent oversight of infusion suites. All infusion-related care is physician-directed.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Board Certified (NCCPA)
  • Active, unrestricted Florida PA license
  • Active DEA registration (or ability to obtain prior to start) [If applicable]
  • Eligible for credentialing with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
  • Strong clinical documentation and EMR skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Rheumatology, Internal Medicine, or specialty practice experience
  • Experience with biologics, specialty medications, or infusion workflows
  • Outpatient specialty clinic experience
