Position Summary
Riverview Community Mental Health Center is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant–Certified (PA-C) to join our outpatient psychiatry team. The PA-C will provide comprehensive psychiatric care to a diverse patient population, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, and ongoing follow-up. This role requires collaboration with psychotherapists and other mental health professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Schedule
- Hours of Operation: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- No evenings or weekends
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits for outpatient patients
- Manage a daily caseload of approximately 20 patients per day
- Diagnose and treat psychiatric conditions across the lifespan, as appropriate
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications via electronic prescribing (e-scribe)
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate closely with psychotherapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and medication management
- Demonstrate knowledge of and/or willingness to learn innovative and alternative psychiatric treatments, including but not limited to:
- Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
- Spravato (esketamine) therapy
- Adhere to all clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards of care
Required Qualifications
- Current PA-C certification and active state licensure (or eligibility)
- Experience in psychiatry or behavioral health preferred
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatment protocols
- Excellent clinical judgment, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in an outpatient psychiatry setting
- Familiarity with TMS, Spravato, or other interventional psychiatric treatments
- Comfort managing a high-volume outpatient schedule
