Job SummaryAs a specialized healthcare provider who focuses on the diagnosis, treatment and management of eye conditions and diseases. Providing comprehensive eye care, including conducting eye exams, prescribing corrective lenses, managing eye disorders and assisting in surgical procedures when necessary.

Responsibilities– Conduct patient assessments and provide appropriate medical treatment.

– Providing pre-operative and post-operative care and monitoring surgical outcomes.- Assist in surgical procedures and wound care management.- Administer injections and medications as needed.- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.

– Providing patient education and counseling on eye health and safety practices.

– Understanding of ocular anatomy, eye diseases and vision assessment.

-Proficiency in conducting comprehensive eye exams.

– Effective communication and patient education skills are vital, as they interact with patients to explain diagnoses, treatment options and preventive measures.

-Collaboration with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals is crucial for providing coordinated eye care.

-Attention to detail and precision are fundamental when interpreting diagnostic tests and assisting in surgical procedures.

-Possess empathy and the ability to create a comfortable and reassuring environment for patients during eye exams and treatments.- Strong interpersonal and communication skills- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Education/Qualifications:

– Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.- Current Florida state licensure as a Physician Assistant.

-Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

-Master’s or Doctoral degree in nursing.

-Specialization in Ophthalmology or ophthalmic care.
